Eight Online Brokerage Firms Downgraded
Weiss Ratings has downgraded ratings on eight online firms, citing the bear market and its effect on investors to either sit on the sidelines or turn to full service brokers for traditional, full service.
On the lower end of the ratings are TD Waterhouse, Ameritrade and Accutrade, each of which now has a rating of C+.
Weiss ratings are defined as: A = Excellent; B = Good; C = Fair; D = Weak; and E = Very Weak.
